  6. COMMISSIONER ANNOUNCEMENTS
    1. Commissioner Amparano announced the following:
      1. Hopefully, everybody had a good summer.
      2. September 6 is the 14th annual Imperial Valley 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at the Fairgrounds.
    2. Commissioner Escobar announced the following regarding 9/11 events:
      1. Our Lady of Guadalupe in Calexico will be having a church service at 7 am, followed by breakfast served by the Knights of Columbus.
      2. There is a luncheon at the Navy Base that we were invited to by the chaplain.
  7. EXECUTIVE OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENTS
    Executive Officer Tyler Salcido announced the following:
    1. IM 1-25 Extension of Water Service to the City of Imperial was approved on July 1, 2025, for 604 W. Murphy Road, Imperial, CA 92251, APN 063-020-010.
    2. He is now one of the four regional Deputy Executive Officers for CALAFCO and will be working on a lot of things.
    3. CALAFCO has appointed a new Interim Executive Director.
    4. Early registration has closed for the CALAFCO Annual Conference at the Wyndham San Diego Bayside, but we can still register you if you wish to go. So far, we have Commissioner Salgado and Commissioner Irigoyen attending.
    5. El Centro’s Master Tax Sharing Agreement expires at the end of this year.
    6. We will be getting some quotes for landscaping to improve the look of our property, and then we will be requesting a budget adjustment.
  8. DISCUSSION AND ACTION
    1. IID 1-25 Municipal Service & Sphere of Influence Review of the Imperial Irrigation District’s Service Area Plan

      Executive Officer Tyler Salcido presented a PowerPoint presentation, which may be viewed on the LAFCo website.

      The following from the Imperial Irrigation District were present:

      Cameron Bucher, Outside Counsel

      Justina Gamboa-Arce and Geoffery Holbrook answered any questions that the Commission had.

      Motion by Commissioner Luellen and second by Commissioner Salgado to continue

      Per Commissioner Escobar, the Commission will give directions to Executive Officer Tyler Salcido as to what they are looking for in the form of questions to give ahead of time to the IID to prepare for the continuance.

      Motion by Commissioner Hawk and second by Commissioner Amparano to approve the investment of funds in the Local Agency Investment Fund
