A Calexico resident asked the Commission to send a letter to the Heffernan Memorial Healthcare District Board to cease and desist on future expenditures except those required under AB 918.

5. DISCUSSION AND ACTION

5a. Authorized Bank Signatories for LAFCO

Legal Counsel Steve Walker and the Commission discussed who would be the authorized bank signatories for LAFCO. The Commission voted to appoint Commissioner Salgado and the Chairman, and to leave the staff member currently on record.

Motion by Commissioner Amparano for the Authorized Bank Signatories of LAFCO to be Commissioner Salgado, the Chairman of the LAFCO Commission, and the current staff member on record

6. CLOSED SESSION

6c. Conference with Legal Counsel – Existing Litigation

(Gov. Code § 54956.9) Name of Case:  Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District v. Imperial Valley Healthcare District case #ECU003473      

Legal Counsel Steve Walker reported three items were discussed in the closed session. No action was taken on items B and C, just information was given to the board by counsel. Staff was given direction on item A.

The next Regular Commission meeting will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at 8:30 a.m.
